Reminds me of stories about car thieves failing to steal certain cars cos they're manual.

Grew up with manual cars, played some driving games with the manual setting, and went to driving school to learn how to drive stick, but because of my anxiety and other mental conditions, I've ultimately turned to auto, much to the chagrin of my driving teacher and car enthusiast peers, lol. I'm glad I know manual at least.

Maybe he should have got 2017-2022 model since it has an automatic transmission mode.

I have owned 3 different manual transmission cars (and still own 1) He should've just called me... I would have taught him how to drive it

My uncle demanded I learned to drive in a manual, he reckoned that if you can drive a manual, you can drive anything...
I always thought it was useless as 90% of cars over here are Autos, but over the years I've found it extremely useful, allowing me to drive not just cars, but "real" 4WD's, trucks, buses, rescue vehicles and specialised vehicles.
It also makes reversing with trailers in autos so much easier lol.

It blows my mind how many people in North America can't drive a manual.

Here in Europe the vast majority of cars are manual transmission and automatics are uncommon.
