I got a call from my boss about an hour ago. He told me to check the Met Office weather warnings tomorrow morning. They are currently at red for our area for tomorrow, and if it stays that way, I was told not to come in to work.
We don't get many red warnings. The most is usually amber and they are bad enough.
I'm very worried (an understatement for sure) about the potential wind damage tomorrow. I added at least thirty screws to my car-port after the last storm, but some of the gusts tomorrow could… See More
be twice the speed we had the last time, and this is to last two days.
EDIT: To put the picture into perspective, the black line and arrow is the direction the storm will travel, but the yellow line and arrow are where the strongest winds will travel. This is because the strongest part of this storm, due to the direction of the spin, is below it and spinning in an anti-clockwise direction.
If this stays true, the winds will come from a direction that will hit the back of the house, where the potential for damage is far worse for us.
The reason for this storm is actually because of the extreme (and bizarre) cold weather that the US is getting in Florida, Texas and other areas not used to that level of cold. The cold front pushes right across the ocean and upsets other weather patterns.
Hope you'll be safe, guys

I hope you and others are able to keep safe.
Good to see your boss taking this seriously.
We don't want to see you flying across the sky, Mary Poppins style.
