Got a question, I got these old video's between 18 and 25 minutes each. But they are grainy, originating from VHS.. yea they been around for a while.
So the massive res is what.. 320p.. 480p maybe.
I know upscaling something that low res is far from perfect but I would like to get at least 720p out of it.
So any of you know a "simple" tool to upscale old junk llke this? I got the clips on an old harddrive (yea those clunky 3.5 inch metal ones...) and would love to try to get them on my main PC and upscale… See More
them.
If the tool is not free then fine, I'll save up money for it once I paid for my dad's cremation at some point. They are homevideo's with sentimental values from 1995'ish give or take a year or 2.
Any suggestions?
Most likely SD 480p. Video is a lot like images when it comes to digital quality. It's much more easier (and preferred) to downscale instead of upscale in order to preserve quality. However, there are services available now that will upscale via AI means. I can't think of any at the moment that would be worth it. ______

I use OpenShot Video Editor for free for a long time now. Highly recommended.

From my experience, this video transcoder has a good denoiser and upscaler.
I used the trial version, a lot of years ago, to upScale some *old* videos of the Overtone choir in Prague.
