I have zero experience working on furniture so hopefully someone here can #help
My neighbours bought a new dining table do they gave me their old one.
It is solid teak and originally whitewashed but had that removed so now it is bare wood.
I don’t want to use an ugly plastic tablecloth but I need to seal this wood so any spills or anything do not ruin it.
What is the best thing to treat it with without changing the look of the wood?

Best option would be coating the surface with resin (epoxy) sealants, wood polishes or other type of oil coatings perish in a matter of months leaving the wood surface prone to scratches and stains, clear epoxy seals the natural colour and design of the original wood with a smooth finish over it and it lasts a very long time, and is durable.
