I've not been posting that much, or commenting much. This has been a very busy month, and the last two weeks in particular have seen me working almost every day. I've had a nasty cold for the last two days, and today's Sunday shift was much longer than usual. Where I would normally have about 40 parcels to deliver around different areas, today I had 77.
That may not sound like much, but I have to get to those areas, and then drive from street to street, knocking on doors, taking pictures of the handovers,… See More
or finding safe places to leave parcels and write cards out to let the customers know where I have left them. Plus the last two days have seen me suffering a bad cold. Last night I even lay on the sofa (awake) to give my wife space to rest.
My ADHD assessment was on Tuesday, and I'm still waiting on a phonecall back (they said it could be the next day or a couple of weeks). I tried to explain the difficulty with my mind when trying to concentrate. I said it's like a hundred voices trying to get my attention, all screaming different things, but they are not really voices - It's just how I visualise it. Of course they jumped onto the voice description, asking me if the voices tell me to do things.
I'm like, really? I said it's just how I visualise it to make sense of it, and that it's not really voices in my head! I'm not crazy; just exhausted from fighting myself on a day-to-day basis when trying to do even the simplest of tasks.
Had a parcel once left in our recycling bin, with only a generic card saying it was left in a "safe place", no detail.
Was going to be emptied the next day.
Fortunately I managed to find it, but really the note should have said clearly where it was. Would have only taken a few seconds sure to write "Blue Bin" or something like that.
