Can someone actually give good reasons of why developers don't give a damn about community toxicity? It's becoming insane in every game! Counter Strike, League of Legends, Dota 2, Heroes of Newerth... Problem is not even the fact now the internet world is getting flooded with children (age and mental age) that don't care about free insults because "No one will harm them", the biggest problem is developers not doing anything to shut their mouths, stop them from trolling, insulting and simply not being… See More
competitive in COMPETITIVE matches, not wanting to teamwork nor have someone as a temporary leader because too proud. Still they ban me for 2 weeks for giving advice but being reported by premade teams.. so developers are actually banning more good people than the actual problems. I even once encountered a dude who kept on telling me not to give instructions for the team, i told him to do so since he was a better Kill/death ratio, but no he did not even want to do that as well and started to laugh randomly like i did something funny, not being competitive, doing stupid things, not following the team and kept on acting like a stoner having fun with no particular reason to laugh, classic kid acting cool being just a fool. So you're telling me not to be a leader, you don't want to be one, you don't want to make us win but you're in a competitive, you go alone without your team and you die and now i'm the one that has to be blamed or banned?! For trying to win my Sh**ty competitive matches by giving advice typing a lot? And no that's not flaming, that's just typing a lot of advice, still kids call it flaming.
I guess it's a GG WP for the online gaming community
Developers should spend their time to actually develop their games and should hire people to manage the community. (Which most do)
But, when you have hundreds of thousands or millions of people that play a game, it's gets complicated to have enough people to manage the community/messages/reports one by one and by hand.
Most developers solve this with automatic processing to try to filter the toxicity.
When you automatize stuff, you always have false-positives and false-negatives, this means some toxic… See More
people will still go through the automatic filters and some innocent people will get caught.
There sadly is no easy solution if you want to keep games cheap. (Hiring people to manage a community and scaling their number appropriately to the size of the community is very expensive).
- Most developers do care, but they don't have the money.
