BlackDog was founded by Rick Francis in 1983 under the name Mountain Vets, in 1988 changed to BlackDog Foundation. BDF is a 501c3 and we serve about 1,500 Veterans with PTSD yearly and would like to expand that to 2,500 veterans yearly with this next expansion. The services we will provide at our Veteran Center include art, meditation, music, meals, tv and internet, washer and dryer, PTSD counseling and awareness, aikido training, full-immersion VR therapy, video games, tabletop roleplaying and book library, and computers, etc., We utilize veterans who have learned how to deal with their PTSD to reach out to the next Veteran. Bringing the Veteran into service to the community.
