New build finally finished! Many new parts and still some old. The riser I'm using is a Link-Up 4.0 and despite what I've read, it's working just fine but no quicker speeds or enhanced performance. Virtually the same as 3.0. I just like the look. The only sponsor items I have are the AMD cpu, Radeon card by XFX, and G.SKILL memory due in large part to availability and budget. Despite some GPUs being labelled as and hardwired for 4.0, they aren't exceeding 3.0 bandwidth.
Rarely will there be any improvement.
All it does it cause problems with risers.

Well, my motherboard came! It's The MSI Meg X570 UNIFY! The most expensive and heaviest board I've ever got! It is a massive, beautiful beast with well thought out design and definitely magnificent! Here are some pics. Running some tests with my computer as is and will run some after. I want to see what a difference there is in overclocking and performance of the 4.0 PCIe GPU interface. More pics after. By the way, don't mind my feet in the one picture...

run one at stock as well on the new mobo to see if theres a lot of difference between that and the oc settings, also if your running an nvme4.0 m.2 then run the same tests without anything connected to the sata ports and see if they make much of a change  

(according to several web reviews using something on the sata ports slows the pcie lanes down....
