Considering most people who use chrome save thier passwords and they're getting ready for a huge update.... not too surprised. The update is supposed to change everything to be more secured. It would be pointless to do the update and you still use the same password that was potentially leaked in some way.
I got the same thing. Passwords changed on everything that matters. Google had a big problem with Gmail addresses being used on third party sites getting passwords stolen. They supposedly fixed it but they're recommending everyone change passwords as a precaution.
